and Pixey Eigenbrode, who worked for the U.S. Department of the Army. He lived abroad
for almost 3 years until his parents relocated to the Maryland suburbs of D.C. While most
people usually assume that means Bethesda, Chevy Chase or Silver Spring (which they
inevitably pronounce 'Silver Springs'), Adolpho actually was privileged to live in Prince
George's County, a fact he wears as a medal of honor.
From an early age he idolized Jim Henson and cites 'The Muppet Show' for his love of
theatre. In fact, it was the chaotic nature of pulling a show together week after week on
the program that really attracted him. Adolpho, moreover, was mesmerized by the
curtains that opened and closed by electricity at his local 'Show Biz Pizza' and decided he
must, too, be a part of 'Show Biz'. His infamous stage debut occured at age 7 and involved
dancing to Gloria Estefan's 'Conga' in nothing but a pair of Hawaiian shorts and a lei at
his elementary school talent show. Always looking to shock and entertain, Adolpho
continued over the years by taking over the duty of choreography for his all-boys jazz
class dance recital (age 8), portraying the Tin Man in 'the Wiz' (age 13) and performing in
a Green Fern Covered Bra Top and Grass Skirt in his first Theme Park Show (age 15), to
name just a few.
In fact, while Adolpho had performed in community theatre, school productions, violin
concerts, dance team, and even attended a Performing Arts Elementary and Middle
School, it was truly the summers of attending his local theme park that got him his
professional start. Summer after summer, while all the other kids were riding roller
coasters or swimming in the wave pool, Adolpho would use his season pass to sit in the air
conditioned theatre and watch show after show of lively (and cheesy) theme park
entertainment. After attending an audition at age 15 with fellow classmate and friend
pop-singer Mya, he was cast in 'Magic of the Night' and thus began a long 13 year
association with the genre.
Upon graduation from the prestigious Science and Technology Program at Eleanor
Roosevelt High School, he was forced to attend college by his parents even though he
pleaded to come to NYC with just the 37 dollars in his piggy bank and his 'dream'.
Listening to his parent's advice, for once, actually was a blessing and he earned his BFA
in Music Theatre from Shenandoah Conservatory in Winchester, Virginia.
Moving to New York City post-graduation, Adolpho supported his auditioning habit by
using the knowledge that had been drilled in his brain for years. He became the creative
assistant to the national Creative Director of Six Flags Entertainment. Developing
concepts for state of the art (and often cheesy) shows was a perfect way to put dinner on
the table in between regional theatre contracts and choreography gigs. He also
discovered the thrill of the comedy scene and has since premiering his own characters and
storytelling style of stand-up.
Professionally, he has been lucky over the years to have worked at 4 regional theatres,
6 stock theatres, 1 major movie musical, 1 tour, 6 industrials, 2 cruise ships, 4 theme
parks, 2 readings, 1 workshop and a handful of concerts, cabarets, comedy shows,
choreography/directing gigs, and even a webmercial.
He is proud of his success thus far and can't wait to 'rule the world'.
